June 23rd 2009Life, liberty, and the pursuit of E-cigs …
By JD Henry
With more smoking bans and new legislation the US Government is forcing smokers to smoke only in designated areas, pay bloated taxes and now allowing the FDA to put a seal of approval on regular tobacco; it is clear to see the US Government cares very little for the American Smoker. When our forefathers started this country they believed in everyone’s right to “Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness " yet each day you find your liberties taken away for your own good. Even in the pursuit of happiness you are blocked by someone else who thinks they know what is best for you and your health.
With the current onslaught on American smokers it is hard to believe that Americans owe a lot to tobacco. Tobacco was the first crop grown for money in North America. In 1612 the settlers of the first American colony in Jamestown, Virginia grew tobacco as a cash crop. It was their main source of money. Tobacco helped pay for the American Revolution against England. Also, the first President of the U.S. grew tobacco.
America has been making money off tobacco since its inception and will continue to do so for many years through the new FDA regulation of tobacco. This new law will insure less nicotine in tobacco cigarettes so smokers will smoke more and take deeper drags which means even more US smokers will die from tobacco related illnesses. Big Tobacco cares only in seeing all smokers chained to their product alone with no sight of cessation or alternatives through the new FDA regulation of tobacco.
Big Pharmaceutical makes billions selling American Smokers their cessation products. Consumers spent $3 billion worldwide in 2008 on cessation products. That’s up from $1.4 billion in 2002. Still, smoking cessation products are known to be about five percent effective and 80 percent of smoking cessation product sales are made to habitual nicotine users.
One company has decided to change the rules. Within just a few months there has been a storm sweeping the US and rocking the foundation of big tobacco, big pharmaceutical and big government; that storm is TrueSmoker.com. Smokers can rejoice knowing that there is an alternative out there that is working for others to be free from the grasp of tobacco. As smokers many have been living life in social exclusion due to their addictions. Well that time is at an end say Hello to the future of smoking the “Electronic Cigarette”.
TrueSmoker launched the new Trinity E-cig which allows you the smoker to have a better/smarter alternative. Free from the outrageous tobacco taxes. Free from the 4000 harmful ingredients of traditional tobacco. Free to smoke when and where you want. Free to achieve “Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness “under your own terms.

Electronic cigarette kits can go between $50 and $100 dollars. (FOX 8 News)
New Orleans – They can look, feel and taste like cigarettes. They don’t contain tar or tobacco, but can contain nicotine. They are called electronic cigarettes and they’re sparking smokers’ interest.
Tom Oliver smoked traditional cigarettes for 22 years, until he discovered electronic cigarettes.
“It is just similar enough to satisfy my craving.” He explains how electronic cigarettes work.
Oliver points to his dissected e-cig saying, “This is the battery. It is a lithium re-chargeable battery. This is the atomizer that you screw together with the battery. And there is a wick that captures the fluid that is in here and wicks it down into the atomizer.”
The atomizer turns the liquid — with or without nicotine — into vapor.
Dr. Charles Brown, a professor with LSU Health Sciences Center, is not sold on the e-cig.
“I don’t see how anything that addicts you to nicotine is healthy,” Brown said.
He also worries the hi tech gadget that offers fruity flavored vapor will addict a new generation to nicotine. And he wonders how Louisiana’s Clean Air Act will deal with people smoking electronic cigarettes in places where traditional smokes are banned.
John Henry is not only an e-smoker, but he also sells them thru www.truesmoker.com. He says since the fluid that fuels the electronic cigarettes comes in high, medium, low and no nicotine smokers can use the product to quit smoking — though it is not the products’ purpose.
“This is not a smoking cessation device. If you happen to quit smoking because of it, God bless you,” Henry said. He and other smokers claim they feel much healthier since quitting traditional cigarettes.
